Sun is absent

Thought about the absence of spring this morning when I took a morning walk on the snowy road. Miss the sounds of birds and warm sunshine that use to wake up this time of year.

Back inside youngest wanted cream buns for breakfast and we made them together. She doesn't want marzipan in hers, I think it's the whole quintessence in them. Ate mine in warm milk ahhh so tasty.

Time to go for the weekly visit in the library always expectant to see what you can find.

City feelings

Walking on some half known streets this evening. Everywhere are streetlights for safety and comfort. I pass through a park with trees illuminated from below, looks so interesting, stir your fantasies. A walking bridge over a little pond has some red lights on the railing gives some sort of carnival feeling. I take a break on that bridge looking around at all the lights from the city around, the big church in the distance has its walls bathing in light. Do people appreciate all this effort with lights, to give a nice impression for us who wander around?

Passing bars and restaurants one has candles outside, looking at the people sitting inside through windows. I´m a bit surprised that there are so many going out on a normal Thursday evening guess that is called social life.

It is a quiet city centre with no car traffic just us pedestrians and some cyclists who move around. An open window from an apartment reveals some laughter. All windows are filled with lights from the apartments where people live. This thing about living in a city attracts in some way. To have a café open at evenings or to be able of an impulsive sneak in on a cinema with a show that appeals and all just one block away from where you live. Some part of me would like to have this city life some other needs to live in the woods without any neighbours. Hmm.. think that asocial string in me is stronger, a city is nice to visit.. sometimes..

Woke up this morning windows frosted

-14 and a white blanket of snow on the ground. Thought about spring or rather the absence. First spin seems to be looong away this year, should have bought that snowmobile I was drooling over. Anyway time to slip into the long pants and go to work..

Sun is going up on a new year

First walk in the woods this year.

Birch is sleeping, the Pine is probably taking notice of all the curves when she's undressed...

Sky is so intense blue, can it be called Azure?

This is a wild Cherry tree. The berries can be real tasty in summer but hard to reach without a ladder.

Winter sun always has these mild yellow light.

Last day this year

No I'm not going to party and celebrate that another year has gone hmm..

I'm going to the sauna right now to lay in the warmth and contemplate looking at the patterns you can see in the wood on the walls and ceiling just letting your imagination make something out of it.

Art impression

The collection is vast from running on auctions and second hand stores for decades, bringing lots of find home to be standing in some closets.. Some paintings has actually made a place for them and I like to glance at them once in a while. Like this one that I found somewhere for maybe fifty kronor or something like that. It hangs in my bedroom and I look at it every day, haven't got wearied yet.

Perhaps "real" art connoisseurs would dismiss it just as flamboyant and to much of everything. But I like it as it is and use to let the mind play with different ideas when looking at it, sometimes I can let the mind take me yo that shore and let me walk in there feeling the breeze, warmth and smell from the sea. I can wonder what year it is, believe something like 1800 and then what clothes people would bear, believe they where uncomfortable.. especially for women if it was warm. Things where not always better before.. Wonder what language you would have to master for communicate with the people over there and what food you could find, definitely fish but what sort and do they use to make it over open fire or boil it, have they discovered potato yet or..

Sometimes I only take in the light and colour, it makes me cosy only to have them in the eye for a while, think it's definitely a warm painting.

Happy Christmas!

Had a long sleep this morning since the ham I cooked on the wooden stove wasn't ready until 01 this morning. It tasted really good..

The snow is falling light and makes the nature look like a Christmas card. Now it's time to relax and let the clock tick slowly waiting for santa..

Christmas coming close

Got to admit I get more and more of this cosy feeling. There is no rush for anything now. The Christmas tree is already inside and you can use the evenings to read and listening to these classic X-mas songs like this one.

Wednesdayevening tea

Having spent the evening out in the unheated garage a warm cup or two warms you up.

This thing of doing work in the garage has a lot of strange psychology in it. Alone with your thoughts that can circulate freely on anything you also have this goal of having the job done. When you get into problems, as you always do, the thing is to take it easy and just let the time work for you. You against this new challenge.

Tonight I listened to some modern Christmas tunes and it was quite cosy.. Often, especially with old cars you have to invent methods for solving the case and afterwards when the job is done you feel quite happy and appreciate this warm cup of tea and some chocolate..

Morning light

It's almost nine in the morning until the light starts to glow, sun is somewhere behind those trees. Lucky I don't live in Kiruna where they now have no lights at all until the end of January. But a lot of people live there and they like it. They get their sun time back in summer when It's not going down for a couple of months. Humans are so versatile!

Saturday and fish for supper

I really like fish, grow up with it as the basic food. Nowadays it's more of a luxury since it's not cheap if you have to buy. Today it'll be Alaska Pollok pre cooked and then in the oven (those frozen square ones) and together with some shrimps. Also a broccoli gratin and a cheese sauce, all together with rice. Glad that the kids also likes fish.

And now for something completely different

Come to think about this song and this very special performance today. Hmm.. see some resemblance..

Remember that film he made "True stories" Really liked the slow pace and Texas weirdness in it. Think it was only me and the film critic from the local newspaper who sat in the cinema that evening.

Casual Friday

Today at work it was just as crazy as any other day but today it was also Friday..

At Sunday it would be the first Advent so it was time to do the annual Christmas decorating, at least in our vast office room. The women with the beautiful eyes started searching for the candlesticks to have in the windows but they seemed to have disappeared in the big move we have done recently. She was shouting "where are my (candle)sticks" I need some (candle)sticks now" (more funny in Swedish although..) "and some (Christmas)balls, for the windows, those smooth red ones"
"then you don't want these hairy ones" I replied. "no but a big pot for the porridge.." we laughed so the tears where falling.. There is always this crazy humour at work.

She did find some candlesticks to place in the windows and we decided that it would be nice to have this cosy Friday afternoon with some wax candles and Glögg (Glühwein) from the liquor store. At three a clock we called it a day, closed down the phones, the door and warmed up some Glögg.

Tuesday evening

The sky is covered so there is no stars in the sky, about 20cm of snow, -7 (centigrade). Just feeling blue..

Sundaymorning walk

I really like to walk in the woods. Makes me kinda glad in a special way when you feel you're a part of nature. And the mind starts rolling on what you see.

Trails of a Fox wonder if it got any haunting luck. Do wild animals have anything they call home?

Hahaha! Male vs Female..

The Birch is definitely female, grace, curvature and trying to get attention. The male Pine is just standing rock solid and doesn't take any notice.. or.. pretend to.

Todays dinner

Was cooked on the wooden stove, and tasted just just as if it was cooked on wood.. also got the temperature in the kitchen to rise some from that +15 it was in the morning.. the house is built 1882 and really floor-cold..

Snow is falling this evening

Looks like a typical stay-inside, listen to music, read books and don't do anything stupid Friday.. hmm..

I prefer it live

Always thought that live music is in another dimension. Next best to actually been there and listening is some real live recording.. I think this is from a program produced in UK know as The Tube. They just let the bands play straight up live, without any remix. Jools Holland was the sharp host and I used to glance.. some years ago..

These guys come in rather dusty but they sure was sharp as..
